(W04) Defining and Managing Career Challenges for Middle and Senior Level Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists

Thursday, May 15, 2008: 7:00 AM-8:30 AM
The Duke Energy Center
Workshop participants will define what, in their experience, constitutes predictable career challenges for the various stages, roles, settings, and personal characteristics (e.g., gender) of pediatric hematologists/oncologists. Participants will also discuss strategies to manage these challenges that might be applied by individuals, institutions, and ASPHO as a professional society. The deliberations will be recorded and used to produce a survey of the ASPHO membership as a means of validating the findings. A summary of the discussions and survey results will be presented to the ASPHO Planning Committee and the membership to aid future planning.
