W06 Fertility Preservation in Pediatric Oncology

This session will review the current options for fertility preservation for children and adolescents with cancer, including both standard approaches and new technologies and techniques being developed to preserve fertility in the pre-pubescent population. We will cover sperm banking and testicular biopsy for males, and embryo, oocyte and ovarian tissue cryopreservation and hormonal manipulation for females. We will also review practical issues of delivery of these services in a pediatric oncology center, with details from successful programs.
